Fit to Recover

Knows It's Fun to do Good!

Fit to Recover has been successfully aiding a providing a safe place for people in recovery of substance use disorders since January of 2015. Started by Ian Acker and a small group of friends who felt the urgency to help support one another in sobriety through exercise and fellowship.
Today, more than 450 people in recovery each week pass through their doors. They attend fitness classes, learn how to write poetry, lay down tracks in the audio studio, cook and eat healthy food together, empower women in early recovery, and reach out in service to others in need.
Mission Statement:
“Our mission is to provide a safe place for people in recovery from substance use disorders to connect through fitness, nutrition, creative arts and community service.
Fit To Recover seeks to bring balance to our lives through our four pillars: Nutrition, Community Service, Creative Arts, and Fitness. We accomplish this through group cooking classes, artistic endeavors, service outreach, and sports & exercise.
Our overall well-being is measured by progress toward individually set goals. Whether in the gym, the kitchen, the studio, or the community, we are mutually-supportive and stare down our challenges, together.”
