Knows It's Fun to do Good!

It's Fun To Do Good and the Physical Therapy Association Student Special Interest Group knows it!

APTA-AZ is a student organization who has a curriculum to support charitable organizations by holding events throughout the valley. The APTA-AZ has sponsored events with the Ronald McDonald House, AZ Disabled Sports, and Special Olympics. They are active in their organization but have a heart to help those in need. Next month they will be playing the game baseball with the Miracle League of Arizona.

Here is some information about the APTA-AZ:

The Arizona Physical Therapy Association Student Special Interest Group (AzSSIG) exists to enhance the educational experience of all Arizona Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant Students and facilitate PT/PTA student contribution to and collaboration with the AzAPTA. This is accomplished through social networking as well as community and professional involvement.

It's Fun To Do Good and the John Volken Academy knows it!

The John Volken Academy Ranch is a larger organization that has a location here in Gilbert who take in people with an addiction. FatCats sponsors activities with their students when they have earned free time away from the ranch. This is a two-year program. The ranch is an actual equine ranch and the students are actual ranch hands. It’s an incredible program. On our visit during an early evening, they were having a small event. There were at least 50 riders on horseback showcasing, training or walking their horses that were stabled there.

Here is some information about the John Volken Academy Ranch:

The John Volken Academy Ranch is a quality equestrian park and events center nestled under a beautiful view of the San Tan Mountains.

The John Volken Academy addiction recovery program is modeled after the therapeutic community approach to addiction treatment, providing students with healthy lifestyle changes needed to live successful and sober lives, in the long term. The treatment programs are supported by a board of directors and receive consultation from addiction professionals and healthy-living specialists. Combining the therapeutic community approach with professional guidance makes this program extremely effective and truly life-changing.
