Knows It's Fun to do Good!
It's Fun To Do Good and Project Read knows it!
Project Read uniquely focuses on adult literacy (ages 16 and up). With approximately 40 volunteer tutors, they work with adults who have not learned to read or have a low reading skill. Their work helps students to not only live day to day but succeed in continued education and work. Shauna tells of the time she knew she was in the right place and that she wanted to continue working with Project Read. She started as a volunteer and one day a young mother came in with medicine bottles in her hands. The mother explained she has 2 little kids and the bottles she was holding were for them. But she was concerned about mis-dosing them because she could not read the bottle and dosing instructions. Project Read is not only life-changing, but it can also be life-saving!
It's Fun To Do Good and Neighborhood Art Center (N.A.C.) knows it!
The NAC is a place where kids and adults alike can be creative in their own way. Art can help stimulate the brain and open the mind! The founder, Tallia Feltis, knew there was a need for a safe creative place and opened the doors in August 2017. They are in need of art supplies like construction paper, cardstock, pipe cleaners, cardboard boxes, newspaper, fabric, artificial flowers, etc. as well as monetary donations.
